About Creekside Garden

We opened in April 2012 at the former location of Creekside Farm & Nursery on Drayton Rd in Spartanburg SC, across from the Post Office.  We continue the same dedication to provide a wide variety of plants, shrubs, and flowers for the avid gardener.

Charles Covert is the manager/owner and is a member of the Men's Garden Club in Spartanburg.  He also is a Master Gardener and is a member of The Trees Coalition which includes the The Kudzu Coalition.

He grew up in Princeton, New Jersey in Mercer County.  He attended college here in Spartanburg and fell in love with the mild weather in the South.  As a result he decided to retire down here and keeps busy with Gardening and running this business.

Yes he is a bit of a collector, as you can see from his abundance of plants and he loves to buy plants at good prices.   He likes the country garden look. please walk carefully in the tangle of garden. 

The owners were at a point in their life that they decided to sell the property.  Charlie had a super arrangement with them for renting the garden center.  However the new owners are looking to increase their investment and Charlie decided that he could not run the business with outrageous prices for his plants.  So now he is retired but he still has his phone number if you have a gardening question.

 Gardening advice is free.

​The Garden Center is now closed but Charlie still has his phone number and lots of Japanese Maples.
